Course Overview
This session helps practitioners better understand the experiences of children and young people in social care and how to advocate for them.
You’ll learn about the different types of social care support, starting by looking at support for families, then looking at children in need and children on the edge of care. We then move on to explore the lived experiences of young people entering, living in and leaving care.
You’ll also learn about the various different roles and professionals within social care and how managing relationships in this space can be overwhelming for a young person.
In addition, we talk about how social care meetings can cause challenges in schools and how schools can better respond to behaviour as a result of this.
