These moments include witnessing abuse, divorce, experiencing abuse, changing schools, and living between different family members. By understanding these pivotal moments, participants will gain a deeper understanding on the trauma young people experience before care and the circumstances that lead them into care.
The session also explores the different types of care available and introduces participants to the language and terminologies used to describe young people’s situations within the care system. Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of the care options and the unique needs of young people in care.
Furthermore, the session highlights the various professionals who are involved in a young person’s journey through the care system and how their presence can impact the young person’s trust in adults.
